Asia Agcoili is undoubtely a Philippine top celebrityWhen the largest mall in the Philippines declined to show R-18 movies in their cinemas, especially sexy films, some showbiz careers folded. But not for the former model and Viva Hotbabes’ member Asia Agcaoili who instead learned to expand her horizon.

Noticeably, one of the singers of the novelty song “Bulaklak” is also one of most well known celebs who was able to conquer a tri-media platform. The Clothing Technology graduate from U.P. landed an adviser/columnist gig for a leading men’s magazine, became a disc jockey for a top rating FM radio station, and of course a celebrated TV personality.

“I love everything that I do. It’s a gift.” Asia said.

The Bold Columnist

At For Him Magazine, Asia gives advice through her column, “Sex Confidential”. The column, she said, promotes open-mindedness as well as encourages respect for women and responsible sex.

Asia answers many questions that are hardly asked (verbally, at least) by Filipinos, and which she answers with her educating and entertaining point of view. This trait adds to her pizzazz, no wonder she’s been a valid hot chick hitting the pages and covers of glossy magazines.

She was also voted no. 13 of FHM Magazine’s top 100 Sexiest women international edition in 2005. FHM UK featured her in the list 2004 and was dubbed the “Sexiest Star” in the Philippines. Her international appeal further expanded last year when she hosted the Philippine chapter of the World Poker Tour.

Asia’s Sound Effects

Radio is somewhat different from her magazine and television stints. The spontaneity or radio and the ability to relate to a different market was hard for someone like her who was known as boob tube’s most fantasized lass.

In adjusting to her work as a DJ, Asia first tried to hone her talent in mixing and working on board. According to her she learned a lot inside the booth that’s why everyday she’s energized to improve whatever weak points she had. She emphasizes that disc jockeying is an art; everything should be perfected to give your 100 % on the air.

Conquering The Small Screen

When the seductive actress auditioned in the first season of “Pinoy Big Brother”, she did not qualify but was instead asked to become a PBB host on Studio 23.

The program showed her doing interviews, spoofs, and of course live feed from Big Brother’s house. She also hosted the recently concluded reality TV show, “Pinoy Dream Academy”.

With bossa nova queen Sitti Navarro, Asia is again hosting PBB. Meanwhile she’s also hosting the “iPBA…Ang Bagong Laro” on ABC 5 where she meets hardcourt personalities and reporting on the latest PBA basketball news.

Oh,a nd yes, you can also catch her in soap operas and films. Is there anything this girl can’t do?

Asia admits that she doesn’t want to miss the breaks given to her. She knows that a lot of people are not given the chance to do what they want.

Clutching all the opportunities she has in her hand, Asia Agcoaili, one of the hottest and sexiest celebrities in the Philippines, is weighing her career options.

“I wanna to be a commercial model, but not for the rest of my life. But I can see myself as an actress for the rest of my life, and being a DJ that could be another option. I don’t think I’ll be a ’sex guru’ forever but I’m not exactly giving up that job anytime soon, not yet!”
